In the global travel marketplace, she founded and led Expedia Group AI Labs, supporting all 14 Expedia brands and over a billion search transactions daily. She built and commercialized the industry’s first transformer-based AI travel chatbot, which automated over 90% of customer service inquiries and fulfillment tasks.
Earlier in her career, Dr. Fang held senior technical and leadership roles at Microsoft Azure, eBay, Cisco Systems, and AT&T. At AT&T, she helped develop one of the first large-scale IP/MPLS networks and virtual private network services—foundational innovations that continue to underpin modern internet infrastructure and remain among the most successful and enduring services in the industry.
